While much of my early work was inspired by New York City’s urban hustle and bustle, I have lived in rural locations on and off during my life and have never failed to be moved by the quiet grace of the natural world in all its aspects.
The human face and body, the flight of birds, the simplicity of apples on a table or sheep in pasture — all these expressions of creation have nourished me deeply and beckoned me to pay tribute to life in all its forms. Each moment we are present with what sits before our eyes, we become allies to life.
