This is one of Harold’s most beloved photographs capturing the joy, vitality and innocence of Coney Island in 1955, when the pleasure-seeking spirit of postwar America was in full swing.

In the film Last Stop Coney Island: The Life and Photography of Harold Feinstein, filmmaker Andy Dunn was able to locate vintage film footage of this favorite teenage activity – beach blanket toss. This image was used in branding the film and precisely echoes Harold’s own irrepressible joie de vivre.
